Matthew D. Carling, Esq., brings a unique perspective to his legal practice. The second of seven children, Matthew understands that one’s voice can easily be drowned out by the masses. Justice and mercy are often inextricably intertwined and trying to find balance is often difficult in our current legal system. Realizing that our society is often plagued by criticism and rage, Matthew tries to find the good in everyone, regardless of status or history. After obtaining his BA in Spanish from Brigham Young University, Matthew enrolled in the Creighton University School of Law. Matthew earned both his Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration in 1998. Upon graduation, Matthew moved his young family to Las Vegas, Nevada. Matthew worked at a prominent insurance defense firm before moving to the District Attorney’s Office in Lincoln County, Nevada. Matthew prosecuted all types of criminal cases, from misdemeanor bench trials to felony jury trials.

In 2003, Matthew decided that it was time to open his own office in Las Vegas. Within a year, Matthew’s new practice became very successful and he was awarded a municipal contract to provide public defender services to indigent clients. Matthew’s office quickly grew to 4 contract attorneys and 2 staff members. Shortly thereafter, Matthew was appointed as Judge Pro Tempore for the North Las Vegas Municipal Courts.

Today, the Law Offices of Matthew D. Carling has gained a reputation for aggressive legal representation. Matthew is well liked among his peers and is trusted among colleagues. Much of Matthew’s practice continues to be referrals from satisfied clients and associates.

While not acting as a lawyer, Matthew is a husband and father of six children. He enjoys spending time at home, gardening, reading, and Civil War Reenacting.
